We were delighted to welcome the 38 metre three masted French sail training vessel Rara Avis into Kilrush Marina this week . Built in 1958 this Phillip Rhodes designed steel schooner is the largest vessel to enter the Marina since it opened. Arriving directly from Brest, Captain Loiselet expertly guided his ship through the lock with very little room to spare each side. The crew and trainees enjoyed the hospitality offered in Kilrush during their stay and were charmed by the attractive town and friendly locals.
Please note dredging has resumed this morning , Tuesday 5th May and will continue on the ebb tide until Friday 8th May 2015. Vessels entering and leaving the marina may be subject to short delays, however access will not be affected.
